Building Writers’ Resources

You may have noticed a new menu item at the top of the page titled “Resources.” I’m going to populate this area of the site with resources to help writers with some phase of the writing (such as beginnings, middles, and ends), crafting plots, subplots, scenes, and editing, avoiding and fixing info dump, pacing, active versus passive voice, points of view, and many more. Each page will be prefaced by a post here, so you’ll want to follow my blog for updates. And the whole is searchable using the search bar at the bottom of any of my website’s pages.

Appropriately to begin a database like this, I’ll start with pages about various tools for beginning your story. Today the topic is beginning with character. And for you pantsers – or those getting ready for a NaNoWriMo camp – I’ve boiled it down to just four (4) things. A single page of notes and you’ll probably be off and running with some full-bodied characters to start running around your story world.

Happy writing, and let me know how it works for you?
